About The Bakery

Camp Oven Bakery has been holding down the corner of Padstow and Warrigal Roads in Eight Mile Plains since 1983. Family-run, three generations deep, and stubbornly old-school — no chemical preservatives, no shortcuts, just baked goods made the way they were when the doors first opened. They’re known across Brisbane for the classics. Hearty meat pies. Vanilla slices that still wobble. Custard tarts with a proper top. Chelsea buns the size of your fist. And one wildly popular outlier — a 2kg banh mi that has its own following. A family-run Brisbane bakery in Eight Mile Plains, going strong since 1983. Famous for old-school Aussie classics — meat pies, vanilla slices, lamingtons — and one slightly unhinged signature: a 2kg banh mi. No preservatives, no shortcuts, just hearty pies the way your nan would order them. The pie menu reads like a love letter to Australian working lunches. Classic beef mince. Potato top with cheese on top. Ned Kelly. Pepper steak. Slow-cooked brisket. Curry. Steak and kidney. Fourteen different flavours, all baked fresh daily
